We know Kingman & Norwich Seniors & parents are anxious to hear what plans are for celebrating graduation. All plans are subject to Kansas moving to Phase 2 and to approval by the County Health Officer. The Governor announced today that there could be NO Graduation Events while Kansas is in Phase 1. We plan to have an alternative ceremony the weekend of May 22-24. Times & Details will be forthcoming. We also are planning a more traditional ceremony on Saturday, June 27.

Please continue to practice social distancing. It’s difficult on beautiful days when you feel fine. We want to continue feeling fine- which requires all of us to follow safety protocols.

USD 331 will run a regular school schedule today (Thursday, Feb 13, 2020). It is very cold with windchills that you should limit being outside and certainly bundle up. Driving your kids to school instead of walking would be a good idea. As always parents- If you are uncomfortable sending your child to school due to the temperatures, you should use your best judgment & keep them home. We will be open today. **remember- we do not have school Tomorrow- Feb 14 due to parent/teacher conferences and no school Monday, due to Teacher Inservice. Bundle Up!!

This great looking group of students all earned Eagle Pride Tickets for setting a great example here at KEMS. Working hard in class, helping others, and cleaning up classrooms are just a few of the positive examples these kids set for others to follow. GREAT JOB!

Official update on status of school at USD 331 today (Friday, January 17, 2020): We will continue with our plan to follow our Late Start schedule. The temperature is rising with lots of melting. There are isolated slick spots on streets, roads & highways so caution should be exercised. Sidewalks seem to be hazardous. School maintenance crews are at work spreading ice-melt on sidewalks. Parking lots are slick so be aware of that. Thanks to City, County, & State Road Crews for your advance treatment & for putting down sand to help keep us all safe. Parents- as always in weather decisions- if you are uncomfortable with our decision you can choose to keep your student(s) home. Remember we aren’t starting until 9:30 this morning. Also - remember we do not have school on Monday, Jan. 20 due to Inservice. Drive safely.

‪At this point we see about 1/2” of snow and are looking at running Normal schedule for school. Expecting another 1” or so. We will continue to evaluate roads.
